Different start dates would make perfect sense in Medieval 3 if the campaign covered roughly the same span of time as Medieval 2’s. Personally (and I know I may be alone in wanting this), I would love to see the campaign start just before the Hundred Years War in the 1330’s, and finishing around 1500, just after the discovery of the New World.
