You will moved on by the police if you try to park in a lay-by not withstanding the obvious danger. The only laws relating to staying overnight in caravans ‘offsite’ ie wild camping are local byelaws, ie council car parks may ban overnight parking etc, otherwise its what you can get away with.

How long can I stay on a Caravan Club site?

The maximum time you’re allowed to stay on site is 21 consecutive nights, with a 2-night gap before you can return to the same site. However, there are a few sites where you may be asked to vacate for longer periods. Please ask individual sites for clarification.
