What does Prisma do for a wound?
Promogran and Promogran Prisma are designed to provide an optimum wound healing environment and to modify the wound biochemistry, by reducing excessive protease activity to promote healing. These dressings can be considered in a wide range of wounds to ‘kick start’ healing.
How long does Prisma stay on wounds?
After initial application, re-treat the wound with PROMOGRAN PRISMA™ Matrix up to every 72 hours depending upon the amount of exudate. It is not necessary to remove any residual PROMOGRAN PRISMA™ Matrix.
Does Prisma need to be wet?
If the wound is moist, apply dry piece of Prisma directly on the wound. If the wound is dry, apply Prisma on the wound and then moisten it lightly with normal saline. When Prisma absorbs exudate or is moistened, it forms a gel. Prisma needs moisture to be effective.
