How long does Das White clay take to dry?
An easy modelling material to work with, this clay moulds easily and dries to a firm and strong finish. There is no baking required; simply design your model and then allow for 24 hours per centimetre to dry. It is easy to smooth and will set strongly once air-dried, and then you can start decorating.
Is Das modeling clay good?
It works wonderfully. The smooth texture of the clay once it’s dried makes it very easy to paint onto, so that is another plus. One last thing, this clay dries out my hands a LOT. Working with it for a few hours basically absorbed all of the moisture in my hands and made it mildly uncomfortable for the night.

Once your clay is completely dry, you can apply paint directly to the surface. Acrylic paints work really well, but try not to apply too much in one go – it will need additional drying time (up to an hour) before you apply a second coat. If you are using white self-hardening clay Watercolour paints can also be used.

The short answer is you can dry air-dry clay in the oven. Simply put your Sculpture on a baking sheet, that is covered with parchment paper, put your Sculpture in the oven (keep the oven door a crack wide open) and then heat your oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit.
