A color rinse is considered temporary hair color, which means the color coats but does not penetrate the hair and generally lasts only through one to two shampoos. Although there is no chemical reaction, if hair is damaged and porous, the color can penetrate and stain the hair.

I would definitely recommend NOT coloring your locs if you are currently experiencing dryness, thinning, or breakage. There are plenty of other ways to adore your locs that won’t further compromise your locs. Intentionally work to get your locs healthy and then consider coloring your locs using hair color.

In the shower, rinse with clean water to get all the baking soda out. Fill your bottle half with apple cider vinegar and half with water. Shake it well to mix them together.
